Straight from Playahata.com:

We told ya’ll: In a recent interview up and coming rapper Shawty Lo admitted he paid various radio stations for airplay. The Bankhead sadly confirmed what struggling artists and labels have complained about for years - payola. According to Lo, he paid a variety of radio stations to play his record, which eventually got attention at other outlets once the BDS from smash hit “Dey Know” caught on.

Paying for play is LAME!!!! If you can be bought then what's the point in being a DJ? You are supposed to be breaking records that the DJ likes...not playing a record that you HAVE TO play just because they received payment. Like I said...LAME!!!

Wendy, just found your blog...keep doing your thang girl...hope to see this thing poppin! It's now gonna be in my daily reading!

I don't see anything wrong with payola, that's just big business. Look at some of the Major artists and Major labels, they do it all the time. Sometimes you got to PAY if you wanna get some PLAY, but like dude said, it aint trickin if u got it!
